Agartala: June 12: In the presence of Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath, a state-wise review meeting was convened at the S.A.R.S. complex in A.D. Nagar, the capital. Minister Nath presided over the meeting, which included key officials such as Agriculture Department Director Sharadindu Das and Horticulture Department Director PB Jamatia.
During the discussions, Minister Nath announced that the government will commence paddy procurement from farmers starting June 15. Notably, the state has already purchased 1 lakh 92 thousand metric tons of paddy, amounting to 371 crore 79 lakh rupees from the treasury. Additionally, soil health cards have been distributed to 1 lakh 76 thousand 519 farmers, with plans to extend this benefit to another 40 thousand farmers.
