Agartala: June 05: In a concerning incident, a disabled man visiting IGM Hospital faced alleged harassment at the ticket counter while attempting to see a doctor. According to his family members, despite patiently waiting in line, the staff on duty denied to give them a ticket. This unfortunate situation caused tension within the hospital premises.
The disabled man’s wife, who accompanied him from Badharghat, reported that they encountered difficulties while trying to obtain a ticket. Despite their persistence, they were unable to secure a ticket to see the doctor. The ticket counter staff directed them from one place to another, exacerbating their frustration. Ultimately, the staff refused to issue a ticket, leaving the couple without access to medical care.
The incident highlights the need for improved communication and sensitivity towards patients, especially those with disabilities. Authorities are urged to address this matter promptly to ensure a more respectful and efficient experience for all visitors.
