Agartala: May 22: In a distressing incident in the Barakhala area under Jatrapur police station, a housewife was compelled to leave her husband’s home due to a disagreement over social media usage. Manik Das, a rubber plantation owner, and Pinky Debnath, his wife of nine years, found themselves at odds when Pinky’s social media activity clashed with her husband’s wishes.
Despite having a substantial following of 14,000 on social media, Pinky was forbidden by her husband from posting further updates. Frustrated by this restriction, Pinky took decisive action. On May 18, she sent her two young daughters to school and then arranged for them to be transported to their father’s house via an auto rickshaw.
Manik, in a statement to the Jatrapur police station, expressed his desire for Pinky to regain her self-respect. He implored her to consider their two children and return home. The situation highlights the complexities of modern relationships and the impact of social media dynamics on family life.
