Tragedy Strikes: Bus Accident Claims Lives of Students on Their Way to Exam

Agartala: May 02: In a heart-wrenching incident, a bus accident in Dima Hasao has resulted in the loss of lives and left several passengers seriously injured. The ill-fated incident occurred when a night bus bound for Tripura veered off the highway, plunging its occupants into chaos and despair.

The bus, with registration number AS 01 MC 0243, was en route from Tripura to Guwahati when disaster struck. One passenger, Devaraj Debbarma, tragically lost his life in the accident. Meanwhile, at least 30 passengers sustained injuries, with six of them in critical condition.

Swift action was taken to transport the seriously injured passengers to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) for urgent medical attention. Among the victims, Devaraj Debbarma hailed from the Dhalai district in Tripura.

Adding to the grim situation, the bus was also carrying candidates who were on their way to write the Tripura State Cooperative Bank exam. The incident serves as a stark reminder of life’s fragility and the unforeseen twists that can alter our journeys in an instant. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families during this difficult time.
