62nd Foundation Day of Home Guard and Civil Defence Force Celebrated

Agartala: Dec 06: To maintain peace, harmony, and stability in the country, everyone must work together unitedly. Unity and mutual cooperation are the key tools to take the country forward. This was stated by the Minister of Industries and Commerce, Santwana Chakma, at a march past organized to celebrate the 62nd Foundation Day of the Home Guard and Civil Defence Force at Monoranjan Debbarma Smriti Police Parade Ground. The Minister of Industries and Commerce was present as the chief guest at the event.

She further said that everyone must work together for the overall development of our country. She made all the present people recite the oath of preparedness for disaster management. Two platoons of the State Disaster Response Force, two platoons of the Home Guard, one platoon of the Fire Service, and one platoon of the Civil Defence Force, along with three bands, participated in the march past.

 

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister of Industries and Commerce further said that the state government is making all necessary efforts to keep the youth away from the clutches of drugs. In this regard, clubs, NGOs, and ordinary citizens must also come forward to fulfill their responsibilities. Delivering the welcome speech, the IGP (Crime and Intelligence) of the Police Force, L Darling, said that the Home Guard is performing security duties at various police stations and important places in the state. They have played a special role in curbing extremism.
