Agartala January 6: The police of Mungiakami police station managed to recover a large amount of dry cannabis while being smuggled outside the state. A suspicious lorry numbered TR 02H 1534 was intercepted by the police personnel on duty at Naka Point in the 41st mile area of Assam-Agartala National Highway under Mungiakami Police Station early on Saturday morning.

Later the vehicle was searched in presence of DCM. During the search, about 570 kg of dried cannabis in 57 packets was recovered from the secret chamber of the car. The market value of which is approximately 1 crore 14 lakh rupees. Along with the recovery of cannabis, the driver of the car was arrested. DCM Anjan Das told reporters about the recovery of cannabis.
