5 NLFT militants surrender with weapons

Agartala, January 15: Five militants of the NLFT (PD) group along with weapons surrendered to the intelligence wing of the state police today. This news was given in a statement by the head office of the intelligence wing of the state police.

Netajoy Reang (33), Mohanda Reang (36), Sukumar Reang (27), Kiranjit Reang (20) and Bishnuram Reang (26), residents of Bagichandra Para under Anandabazar police station in North Tripura district, surrendered to the intelligence wing of the state police, surrendered to the Tripura Police to join the mainstream of life.

Point 22 one Chinese pistol, Point 22 two Chinese rifles, Point 22 live rounds 17, 70 mm short gun shells 10, a walkie talkie with 10 Chinese ports, 770 Bangladeshi currency, two Bangladeshi mobile SIM cards, 5 extortion notices and 5 extortion notices. The receipt was received from them. The statement said that this group of NLFT (PD) is very active across Bangladesh.

The statement further informed that the NLFT cadre had surrendered to the Tripura police in January last year. So far, 26 active members of the NLFT have surrendered to the Tripura Police. Tripura went further towards making the state free of insurgency. This is a significant achievement for the Tripura Police in the fight against militancy.
