Ampi, 20th of February 2023. Amidst the indigenous communities of Tripura the Reang community is the one oldest community in Tripura who are dwelling in remote mountainous regions of the state. The most families of this community are are found worst victim of different kinds of government amenities till the date. The same picture has appeared in Dhananjay Para (Twikrak Para) about 7 km away from Pahar Pur under Amar Pur block in Ampi nagar 41 constituency, Gumati Tripura. As per the report, under Pahar Pur VC 25 Reang families of this village do not have government ration card till the date. For not having ration card these poor families who are day labourers are in miserable family condition. Sources said that only in the eve of election different political leaders visit them for gaining vote and motivate them for various government facilities but after the election they forget them; never turn back to look their suffering. Local villagers alleged that being appealed many times for government ration card to the concerned authority the families did not get any positive response till today. Bijendra Reang, Nabinjay Reang, Chamiram Reang, Birchandra Reang and many others total 25 families do not have ration card and totally deprived from any kind of food grain and other facilities. Due to not having ration cards they are deprived from different kinds of government amenities throughout the years. The administration is neglecting them to give their constitutional fundamental rights. The concerned authority must visit the village and interact with the local villagers to take appropriate step to provide them ration card immediately, demanded the deprived Reang families of this village.
