2023-24 budget presentation of Rs 27654.4 crore, deficit of Rs 611.3 crore

Agartala, July 7: Finance Minister Pranajit Singh Roy presented a budget of Rs 27654.4 crore for the financial year 2023-24 in the Tripura Legislative Assembly today. Out of it, a deficit of Rs 611.3 crore was found in the budget. In the budget for the financial year 2023-24 the capital expenditure is estimated at Rs 5358.70 crore. A total of 13 new projects have been announced in the budget of the Government of Tripura.

The budget session of Tripura Legislative Assembly has started today from Friday. On this day, the Finance Minister said, this time the Tripura government has presented an inclusive, futuristic and growth oriented budget for the financial year 2023-24. It has presented the budget keeping in mind the opportunities of the people of all parts of the state of Tripura.

 

On this day, he also said that the GSDP of Tripura was 8.80 percent in the financial year 2022-23, which has increased by 7.20 percent at the national level. He expressed hope that the economy of Tripura will grow by about 8 percent in the current financial year.

 

The Finance Minister said that in this year’s budget, 13 new schemes have been proposed including the Chief Minister Kanya Atmanirbhar Yojana. In the financial year 2023-24, Rs 7,000 have been allocated to the education and health sectors. The proposed new plan has been presented in the budget. In this scheme, 100 female students who passed the secondary and higher secondary examinations will be given one scooty each.

Moreover, Finance Minister Pranjit Singh Roy said thatRs  50 crore have been allocated for the Chief Minister South Development Project and Rs 120 crore for the Chief Minister Urban Development Project to make the youth skilled in work.
