Agartala: Jan 05: Ambassa police station has succeeded again in creating a drug-free Tripura. Additional Superintendent of Police of Sipahijala District Manvendra Chowdhury said that a total of 132 kg of dry cannabis in 45 packets was recovered by searching a vehicle at Ambassa Naka Point. Along with the driver of the lorry, the co-driver has been arrested. The market value of seized dried cannabis is estimated to be Rs.13 lakhs.
Additional Superintendent of Police Manvendra Chowdhury of Sipahijala district said that information came from secret sources that cannabis will be smuggled by car from Teliamura to Shillong this morning. Accordingly, the police sit at the Ambassa Naka point. Then the police of Ambassa police station arrested the car number AS09AC6646 at Naka Point. After searching the car, a total of 45 packets of snorted cannabis were recovered. He said that a total of 132 kg of cannabis in 45 packets was seized. The driver of the car was also arrested.
He also said that the market value of the confiscated dry cannabis will be approximately 13 lakhs.
