Agartala: August 14: In a recent operation, the Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested 16 Bangladeshi citizens at Agartala railway station on charges of illegal entry into Tripura. GRP Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tapash Das stated that the individuals will be presented in court today, with a request for police remand.

The arrests come amid heightened security measures by the Border Security Force (BSF) due to ongoing unrest in Bangladesh. Despite these measures, there have been instances of illegal crossings into Tripura through various routes.
