Agartala: August 19: Despite stringent surveillance by the Border Security Force (BSF) along the India-Bangladesh border and its adjoining areas, the infiltration of Bangladeshi nationals continues. Sidhai police have arrested a total of 12 people, including Bangladeshi nationals and a broker, from the Gopalnagar area of Mohonpur.

Late on Sunday night, police apprehended these 12 individuals from an area bordering India and Bangladesh. Among those arrested, 8 are Bangladeshi nationals and 4 are Indian nationals. The arrested individuals were brought to Sidhai police station the same night. Among the 4 arrested Indians, Amar Faruk Mia, a resident of Gopalnagar Muslim Para, is known as a notorious anti-social element. It is reported that Bangladeshi nationals and Rohingyas have been illegally entering India under his patronage.
