Agartala: Jan 09: , The Young Kaipeng Association (YKA) has organized The 14th State Level Sakungphai Festival Cum General Conference 2024 in Sontang village under Ampi nagar block in Gomati Tripura. On this three day long (7th to 9th January 2024) auspicious occasion a large number of Kaipeng people from all over state have assembled here in the programme venue with great enthusiasm and jolly mood to celebrate this annual event. Sources said that through this fest the Kaipeng tribe promotes their unique traditional identity; accelerates social harmony, oneness and motivates the new generation over the immense value & significance of their heritage & tradition. They inspire the new generation to protect and preserve their valuable heritage, custom, costume and identity. Delegates from all 21 branches of the Kaipeng organization have taken part in this grand festival and celebrated the fest with their unique traditional way. The Kaipeng Rai alongwith ADC EM Kamal Kalai and Ampi MLA Pathanlal Jamatia the programme inauguration was done by lighting the candle. As per the report of Diemlian Kaipeng, one of the organizer body, the Sakungphai Festival is a platform where the Kaipeng people from different part of the country come and create grand integration to celebrate it once in a year. Through this yearly festival the tribe generates a splendid reflection of their heritage, tradition, costume, language, food, and social administrative status towards the world. On the other hand they promote the genuine sense of heritage preservation, unit, fraternity and relationship amidst themselves. Sakungphai is a post harvest festival which is being celebrated since long back and will be followed in future too with proper care and dignity. A large number of Kaipeng dignitaries have taken participation in the programme this year where people were buzzing in the programme premises and stalls displaying Kaipeng traditional social reflection. The YKA executive committee members have conducted a grand discussion over different issues related to their organization achievements and responsibilities amidst the YKA branch delegates present in the programme. The organizer has beautified the event with various colourful Kaipeng traditional cultural segments which have drawn the attention of the spectators. Among the distinguished dignitaries there were Jishu Kr. Kaipeng, CYKA president, Lalnunzira Kaipeng, general secretary and many others remained present in the programme.
