Agartala, January 9: The North District Police has already achieved great success in its anti-drug campaign. A total of 7,000 Yaba tablets have been recovered in the anti-drug operation on Tuesday. Two people have been arrested.
According to the details of the incident, under the leadership of North District Superintendent of Police Bhanupada Chakraborty, based on a secret source, the police had already gathered at the western end of Kalibari Dighi in Dharmanagar city. On time three people came to the drug dealing area, but the police caught two of them and one managed to escape with a bike. He also said that the arrested are Bahar Uddin (24), a resident of Chankhira, Assam, and Sultan Ahmed (21), a resident of Assam’s Canal. A total of seven thousand yaba tablets were recovered from the two.
District Police Superintendent Bhanupada Pad Chakraborty said, this Yaba tablet is such a dangerous drug that once taken, one becomes addicted to it for three days. The black market value of the recovered Yaba tablets is over Rs 35 lakhs. They are being interrogated under the NDPS section. The one who escaped is also being nabbed very soon.
