Agartala: June 09: Chayan Saha, the owner of a Xerox shop, has been arrested by police from West Agartala Thana in connection with the leak of question papers related to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) recruitment. The arrest took place in Advisor Chaumuhani, the capital.

The incident unfolded on June 8 when question papers for 110 positions of Sub Zonal Deputy Officer and Deputy Principal Officer under the TTAADC administration were leaked. The scheduled Sunday exam had to be postponed as a result.

Pradip Debbarma, a member of the interview board, filed a complaint against Chayan Saha and Sujoy Ghosh at the police station. Following the complaint, the police conducted an investigation and arrested Saha. During preliminary interrogation, it was revealed that Data Mohan Jamatia, the board chairman, had visited Saha’s shop to prepare the session paper, leading to the leak.

Approximately 26,000 job seekers had applied for the exam. The new exam date will be announced within the next 10 days. However, the pre-exam answer key leak has raised concerns about the TTAADC administration’s transparency and role.

This incident marks the first time irregularities have surfaced in recruitment since the Tipra Motha party’s victory in the ADC election in 2021. The ADC administration is taking steps to address the situation, and the leaked answer sheet underscores mismanagement under the Tipra Motha rule.

Opposing student organizations allege a secret understanding behind the failure to print question papers through the experienced recruitment board from the government press.
