Agartala, Tripura, 1st September 2024: In a strong display of solidarity and community spirit, the people of Tripura have responded enthusiastically to Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha’s call for support in flood relief and rescue operations. As the state grapples with the aftermath of severe flooding, various organisations and individuals have generously contributed to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to aid in ongoing efforts to mitigate the disaster’s impact.
Among the notable contributions was the initiative taken by the Tripura Web Media Forum, which made a significant donation to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund on Sunday, 1st September 2024. A nine-member delegation, led by the Web Media Forum’s General Secretary, Abhishek Dey, personally handed over the cheque to Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha at his official residence. This act of generosity was more than just a financial contribution; it was also a gesture of support and encouragement for the ongoing relief work.
During the meeting, the delegation also took the opportunity to felicitate the Chief Minister, acknowledging his leadership and tireless efforts in managing the crisis. The interaction highlighted the close collaboration between the state government and civil society organisations, which has been crucial in mobilising resources and delivering aid to affected areas.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Tripura Web Media Forum and praised its members for their commitment to social responsibility. He remarked that despite being at the forefront of social issues as media professionals, the members of the Web Media Forum have gone above and beyond by actively participating in such a crucial humanitarian effort. The Chief Minister’s appreciation underlines the importance of collective action and the role of the media in not only reporting on but also contributing to societal welfare.
Additionally, the flood relief efforts have received widespread support from across the country. Chief Ministers of several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Arunachal Pradesh, and Assam, have extended their assistance to Tripura, reflecting a strong sense of national unity in the face of adversity.
The continued support from within Tripura and across India is expected to play a vital role in the state’s recovery from the flood disaster, helping to restore normalcy and providing much-needed relief to those affected.
