It is notable that following the fall of the Hasina government in Bangladesh and the ensuing persecution of Hindus during the caretaker government headed by Dr. Yunus, significant unrest occurred. Sanatan preacher Chinmoy Krishna Brahmachari’s arrest led to several processions and demonstrations in Agartala, protesting against the persecution of Hindus. On December 3, a protest in front of the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala turned violent. Following this, the Bangladesh government halted visa issuance and recalled all officials of the Assistant Commission to the country.

However, with the resumption of visa services today after a long hiatus, many people are relieved and hopeful that there will be no further issues in obtaining visas.
