Agartala: May 23: Frustrated by the long-standing poor condition of the road connecting Krishnapur to Tilthai in Dharmanagar subdivision, villagers on Thursday morning blocked the road, bringing traffic to a standstill. The villagers dispersed their protest only after getting an assurance from the administration and PWD officials that the road will be repaired urgently.

The villagers have been demanding the repair of the road for a long time. They allege that the road has been in a deplorable state for years, causing immense hardship to the people of the area. Patients are unable to reach hospitals in time due to the bad road condition, and students are forced to stay home from school during the rainy season. Despite repeated complaints to the administration, no action has been taken to address the problem.
