Two Youths Arrested by Irani Police Station on Charges of Rape

Agartala: Dec 10: Two youths have been arrested by Irani police station on charges of raping a minor girl. The police were able to nab the accused within 12 hours of the rape case being filed at the police station. A case has been registered against the two youths and they were produced in court today.

According to the details of the incident, a complaint of a girl being raped was received by Irani police station on December 8. According to the complaint, two youths called the girl around 5:30 pm and asked her to come out. Since the girl was previously acquainted with the boys, she responded to their call and came outside the house. The two youths then took her to Lathiapur and raped her collectively before leaving her there.

 

Irani police station inspector Arunoday Das said that upon receiving the news of the incident, the police rushed to the scene and started an investigation. Then, yesterday, Monday, the police arrested the two accused. Inspector Das said that they were able to catch them within 12 hours mainly from the mobile tower location.

 

He further stated that a case has been registered against the accused and they were produced in court today.
