Two Individuals Arrested for Allegedly Attacking Police Officers

Agartala: August 02: Two individuals, Parthasarathi Debbarma and Kamalesh Debbarma, have been arrested by the Teliamura police on charges of attacking police officers and obstructing their duties. They are scheduled to be produced in court today.

The incident occurred yesterday in the Gamaibari area under the Teliamura police station. A road accident took place when a college student’s bike collided with a BSF vehicle. The matter was amicably resolved by both parties. Upon receiving news of the accident, the Teliamura police arrived at the scene. At that time, Parthasarathi Debbarma and Kamalesh Debbarma, who were reportedly intoxicated, stopped their scooter and engaged in an argument with police officer Manojit Debbarma. Despite repeated requests from the police to leave, the two individuals allegedly attacked Officer Manojit Debbarma. Constable Rafik Mia, who was also present, attempted to intervene but was also struck.

Following the incident, the Teliamura police arrested the two individuals and brought them to the Teliamura police station. According to Teliamura police station OC Rajiv Debnath, a case has been filed against Parthasarathi Debbarma and Kamalesh Debbarma for obstructing police duties. They will be presented in court today.
