Agartala: Jan 03: Two fresh guns with five rounds of ammunition recovered from the house of a Trinamool Congress worker in the run-up to the elections. According to the details of the incident, the police of Kumarghat police station raided the house of Nitai Dutta of Ward No. 3 of Sukanta Nagar village panchayat under Kumarghat police station on Tuesday morning. Police recovered an air gun, a pistol along with 5 live rounds from Nitai Dutta’s house.Nitai Dutta’s son Nirmal Dutta, who was involved in the arms case along with him, has been arrested by the police. The owner of the house, Nitai Dutta, was detained by the police and taken to the police station for questioning. Sources from Kumarghat police station have informed that the Kumarghat police station has registered a case under the Arms Act and started a vigorous investigation in this regard. Trinamool Congress worker Nitai Dutta and his son Nirmal Dutta are being questioned vigorously. However, for the sake of investigation, the police of Kumarghat police station are not willing to say anything in front of the media. However, local residents believe that these weapons were kept in stock to carry out terrorist activities to destroy peace and order in the area during the upcoming assembly elections. But the whole matter will come out in fair investigation. The common people of the entire area breathed a sigh of relief. It is known that the arrested will be sent to the district and session judge’s court tomorrow. Police believe that more issues will come up in the investigation. Who is involved and how the accused collected, remain big questions. If the investigation is fair, the police will be able to nab the rest of the accused.
