Two died and  several injured in family dispute

Agartala: Feb 01: A dispute over family matters occurred between Bipul Das and his nephew Ajanta Das in the Dindayal Choumuhani area under Bishalgarh police station. The two got into a fight, and Bipul Das’s two sons and wife intervened to save him. Ajanta Das, also known as Achintya, along with his father Bishnu Das and his wife, attacked them with sharp weapons, leaving them injured.

Fire service personnel brought Bipul Das, Shyamal Das, and their two sons to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital in a critical state. Dr. Rial Majumdar declared Bipul Das dead. Bipul’s wife, Shimu Das, was taken to GBP Hospital in critical condition, where the doctor declared her dead. The youngest son died on Saturday morning after being referred to GBP Hospital along with his brother, who remains in critical condition.

 

The Bishalgarh police rushed to the scene and arrested the accused, Ajanta Das (Achintya), on the spot. Following the incident, the agitated public vandalized the accused’s house and car. Currently, the remaining accused, including Bishnu Das and his wife, are absconding. On Saturday morning, District Superintendent of Police VJ Reddy and a large police force were present at the scene. The entire incident has created a tense situation.
