Agartala: Feb 06: The Industry and Commerce Department of Tripura is organizing a two-day ‘Business Conclave 2025’ in Agartala to promote industrialization and position the state as a prime business destination. The event, set to begin on Friday, will focus on attracting investments and strengthening the state’s industrial infrastructure. Industry and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma announced that the conclave will feature the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth approximately ₹600 crore.
This year’s theme, ‘Destination Tripura, Land of Opportunities’, aims to showcase the state as a leading industrial hub in Northeast India. Minister Chakma emphasized the commitment of the Tripura government, under Chief Minister Manik Saha, to fostering self-reliance through industrialization. She informed that over 100 investors from across India are expected to attend, with a focus on key sectors such as IT, healthcare, tourism, education, and skill development.
The conclave will offer discussions and demonstrations on the advantages of establishing industries in Tripura. The state’s business-friendly environment, surplus power, strategic connectivity, and a time-bound single-window approval system for investors will be highlighted. Furthermore, the state offers various incentives, including tax holidays and financial support, to attract investors and entrepreneurs.
Minister Chakma also noted that Tripura has already seen the establishment of around 160 business units in the past five years, attracting investments exceeding ₹1,600 crore. She emphasized that industries contribute to employment and stimulate local economic activities by adding value to regional resources.
The conclave will conclude on Saturday with Chief Minister Manik Saha attending the final session, where the MoU signings are expected to take place, marking a significant step toward Tripura’s industrial growth and economic development.
