Two CPIM Nominees Withdraw from West District Parishad Elections

Agartala:  July 22: Returning Officer Dr. Vishal Kumar announced today that two CPIM nominees, Payal Das and Pintu Debnath, have withdrawn their nomination papers for the West Tripura Zilla Parishad elections.

Dr. Vishal Kumar informed journalists that a total of 47 candidates have filed their nominations for the Tristar Panchayat elections in the West Tripura Zilla Parishad. Among these, 17 candidates are supported by the BJP, 17 by the CPM, and 13 by the Congress. All nominations have been validated.

Additionally, Dr. Kumar noted that a total of 56 nominations have been filed for the West Tripura District Council. To ensure a free and peaceful election process, central paramilitary forces have been deployed in the state. All necessary arrangements have been made to maintain law and order during the panchayat elections.
