Agartala, November 3: The passing out of TSR 14 and 15 battalions was held on Friday. On this day, passing out of these two battalions was held through a ceremony organized at KTD Singh Police Training Academy. Chief Minister Manik Saha and State Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan were present on the occasion.
On this day, a total of 331 trained TSRs took oath for their future careers. A total of 1413 people have undergone training in four groups of these two battalions. The rest are in three other training centers in the state. Out of 331 passing out on Friday, 137 women are TSR. This is the first woman constable to be inducted in the Tripura State Rifles. After the introduction of women’s reservation in government jobs in the state, women were appointed to TSR posts with reservation benefits.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Manik Saha reiterated that TSR forces played a key role in eradicating the problem of extremism from the state. Chief Minister said, it is a very proud day for the state. This is the first time that women workers have joined the TSR force. I strongly believe that these newly appointed employees will perform their duties in public service with honesty and dedication after long training. Incidentally, these two battalions of TSR got passing out after 2 long years.
