Two arrested with large quantity of brown sugar

Agartala: Jan 20: Under the leadership of Officer-in-Charge Apu Das, the police of Sabroom Police Station arrested two accused individuals with a large quantity of brown sugar. The arrests were made in the early hours of January 6th, at around 11:30 AM, from the Kathalchhari area, within the jurisdiction of Sabroom police station. The two arrested individuals have been identified as Vicky Saha and Asim Majumdar.

According to police reports, the arrests were made based on a tip-off. Acting on the information, Sabroom Police raided Vicky Saha’s house in Kathalchhari. The police arrested Vicky Saha and his accomplice, auto-driver Asim Majumdar, from an auto-rickshaw parked outside Vicky’s residence. Upon their arrest, the police seized 11.430 grams of brown sugar, Rs. 1,270 in cash, two mobile phones, and other items from their possession.

Following the arrest, the accused were brought to Sabroom Police Station for further interrogation. According to Sub-Divisional Police Officer Nityananda Sarker, after the interrogation, the accused will be presented in Sabroom Court for legal proceedings.

This successful operation highlights the ongoing efforts of the Sabroom police in tackling drug-related crimes in the region. The police’s swift action has been praised for preventing the circulation of illicit substances in the area. The investigation continues, and authorities are hopeful of uncovering further details through the interrogation of the arrested individuals.
