Tripura Web Media Forum delegates meet ICA Director

Agartala, March 11:  Members of the Tripura Web Media Forum met with the Director of the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs, Mr. Bimbisar Bhattacharjee, on Tuesday to present a memorandum with three timely demands. The delegation, led by the Forum’s General Secretary Abhishek De, discussed a variety of issues, including an increase in advertisement rates, the organization of workshops, and the inclusion of Forum members in various media-friendly government committees related to the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs.

Abhishek De highlighted the need for better advertisement rates for web media outlets, given the growing influence of digital platforms. He also advocated for workshops to improve the skills of media professionals and emphasized the importance of involving members of the Forum in decision-making bodies related to media and cultural affairs. The delegation requested that the government provide more support to web media professionals by including them in relevant committees and discussions.

Mr. Bimbisar Bhattacharjee, the Director of the department, acknowledged the validity of each demand and assured the delegation that necessary steps would be taken to address them. He expressed his willingness to consider these suggestions and take appropriate measures for their implementation.

During a courtesy meeting later in the afternoon, the Forum members presented a memento to Mr. Bhattacharya in appreciation of his cooperation. The meeting was attended by several prominent members of the Tripura Web Media Forum, including Hirak Gupta, Suman Mahalabish, Supravat Debnath, Bappi Roy, Dipjit Acharya, Gautam Ghosh, Abhishek Chakraborty, and Dipankar Deb.

The Forum’s General Secretary, Abhishek De, thanked the Director of the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs, Mr. Bhattacharya, and other relevant authorities for their support and cooperation in addressing the issues raised by the Forum.
