Tripura to be self-sufficient in potato seed production in next five years: Agriculture Minister

Agartala, January 12: Tripura will be self-sufficient in potato seed production in the next five years. Agriculture Minister Ratanlal Nath said this after visiting the Horticulture Research Complex at Nagichra on Friday.

On this day, he said, instead of TPS method, ARC method will produce twice as many potatoes as TPS. The taste is also quite high. He said that ARC method of potato cultivation is also being done in the Horticulture Research Complex.

On this day, he expressed hope that the target of potato seed production has been undertaken with new technology. In the next five years, Tripura will become independent in the production of potato seeds.
