During the meeting, MLA Sudip Roy Barman emphasized the importance of protecting the Constitution, describing it as a fundamental duty of every citizen. He expressed concerns about the perceived disrespect towards Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution, and criticized what he described as outdated ideologies.

Mr. Barman alleged that the ruling party, BJP, does not uphold the values of the Constitution, citing remarks made by Home Minister Amit Shah in Parliament. He further stated that democratic rights granted by the Constitution are being undermined.

The MLA called on citizens to actively participate in safeguarding the Constitution and to work towards unity, avoiding conflicts based on religion or regional differences. He stressed the collective responsibility of the people in preserving democratic principles.
