The incident occurred in a hotel near the Agartala railway station, where the young woman was allegedly raped. Her father, residing in Delhi, learned of the incident and lodged a zero FIR there. The Amtali police station in Tripura has since taken up the investigation.

Reports indicate that the young woman was initially detained by police for illegally entering Tripura from Bangladesh. Her father, Mostafizur Rahman, contacted Sona Mia to secure her release by sending money. Following her release, the tragic incident occurred.

West Tripura District Additional Superintendent of Police, Nagar Chiranjib Chakraborty, confirmed that the young woman was raped in a hotel near the Agartala railway station. The accused, Sona Mia, also a Rohingya, fled to Delhi with the young woman. A team of Tripura police has been sent to Delhi to locate him.

The young woman returned to her father without disclosing the incident. However, when she became pregnant, the family learned of the rape, prompting her father to file a case. The investigation is ongoing.
