Agartala: Jan 25: Tripura People’s Party came out of the alliance. The People’s Party decided to fight alone as there was no agreement on the candidate. Party Secretary Dhirendra Singh gave details about this in a press conference organized by the Central Committee of Tripura People’s Party at Agartala Press Club on Wednesday. He said that the Tripura People’s Party has been fighting against the working class people and communalism since 2014. For the past few years, Tripura People’s Party has fielded candidates in elections to defeat the BJP.The People’s Party leadership has called for all democratic parties to come under one umbrella to defeat the BJP in Tripura state in the upcoming elections. Democratic parties united in response to that call ahead of the upcoming elections. But now it is seen that Congress and Left Front are sharing seats among themselves. So it has been decided by the People’s Party to fight independently for the sake of the people. Therefore, for the time being, candidates will be given in Fatikrai Assembly, Kanchanpur, Karamchara. He also said that when the parties went into alliance, the Left Front and Congress leaders were asked to give a seat to the People’s Party to fight. The main opposition Left Front and Congress agreed on the issue. But since no seats were reserved for the People’s candidate, it was decided that the People’s Party would not enter into an electoral alliance with the Left Front and the Congress. Editor Praveen Singh said that it was not a people’s alliance. Congress and Left Front have joined forces. He lamented that the People’s Party was very sincere about the alliance. But the Congress and the Left Front withdrew from the alliance. He expressed his anger.
