Agartala, Nov 12 — Tripura has earned a prestigious national distinction at the Udyog Samagam 2025, hosted by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. The state received the Top Achiever Award in two crucial reform categories under the Business Reforms Action Plan (BRAP) 2024 — Business Entry and Labour Regulation Enablers — recognizing its progress in streamlining regulatory systems and strengthening investor confidence.

Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma accepted the award on behalf of the state from Union Minister Piyush Goyal during the high-profile event held in New Delhi. The recognition marks a major milestone in Tripura’s efforts to establish itself as a competitive, business-friendly destination in the Northeastern region.

Placed under Category X — comprising Northeastern states and Union Territories with developing administrative systems — Tripura was recognized as an Aspirer State in this year’s BRAP rankings. The state was commended for its consistent reform implementation, innovative policy interventions, and governance-led facilitation that have collectively improved the ease of doing business.

The BRAP 2024 assessment covered 434 reform indicators across central and state domains, backed by an extensive feedback mechanism involving over 5.8 lakh businesses and 1.3 lakh stakeholder interviews across 34 States and UTs.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha hailed the achievement as “another feather in Tripura’s cap,” emphasizing that the recognition reflects growing investor trust in the state’s reform-driven ecosystem. He noted that Tripura has already signed MoUs worth over ₹15,000 crore in sectors such as industry, healthcare, education, IT, energy, and tourism — signaling strong economic momentum.

Tripura’s success at Udyog Samagam 2025 is expected to further catalyze industrial growth, positioning the state as a rising hub of investment, entrepreneurship, and inclusive development in the Northeast.
