Tripura Government Working to Improve Economic Condition of Farmers

Agartala: Dec 02: Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath said today that the Tripura government is working towards improving the economic condition of all the farmers in the state.

Addressing a meeting at the Secretariat, Nath said, “A meeting was held today in the video conference hall of the Secretariat to review various important issues and preparations related to the procurement of paddy produced in the Kharif season. Today, Food Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Chairpersons and Vice-Chairpersons of various Panchayat Samitis of the state, District Magistrates of various districts, BDOs of various blocks, and officials of various levels of the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department and the Food Department attended a meeting through video conference.”

 

He said, “Various issues related to the procurement of paddy at the minimum support price were discussed in the meeting.” He expressed hope that the farmer-friendly decisions of the government would play a supportive role in improving the economic condition of all the farmers in the state.
