Agartala: June 18: In a significant move to bolster the healthcare infrastructure of Tripura, the state cabinet has resolved to undertake a recruitment drive for medical professionals. The decision includes the hiring of 226 General Duty Medical Officers (GDMOs) under the state health department, as announced by Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury in a press briefing at the Secretariat.

The recruitment process, to be overseen by the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC), will involve a two-stage merit test. Additionally, the cabinet has decided to recruit 16 Super Specialist Medical Officers and 172 Specialist Medical Officers for the Health and Family Welfare Department.
