Tripura Government Announces Recruitment Drive for Medical Officers

Agartala: June 18: In a significant move to bolster the healthcare infrastructure of Tripura, the state cabinet has resolved to undertake a recruitment drive for medical professionals. The decision includes the hiring of 226 General Duty Medical Officers (GDMOs) under the state health department, as announced by Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury in a press briefing at the Secretariat.

The recruitment process, to be overseen by the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC), will involve a two-stage merit test. Additionally, the cabinet has decided to recruit 16 Super Specialist Medical Officers and 172 Specialist Medical Officers for the Health and Family Welfare Department. The minister also highlighted that PRTC will be an essential requirement for all state examinations.
