Agartala Dec 29: Tripura chief minister Dr Manik Saha will take part in Bhumi-pujan and also lay the foundation stone for the construction of multi-level car parking station bearing all modern amenities to be constructed at Old Motor stand area of the capital city on Friday next.Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation, Dipak Majumder, Municipal Commissioner Sailesh Kumar Yadav, Corporator Ratna Dutta and other concerned officials inspected the site on Thursday morning.Speaking to the reporters, AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder said, “With the induction of BJP government the entire Agartala city and state has seen unprecedented development in various sectors”.“With the construction of the multi-level parking station, the major problem of traffic congestion will be solved. Besides, it will further add to the beautification of the city”.Detailing the whereabouts of the parking station AMC Commissioner Sailesh Kumar Yadav said, “The multi-storey parking station will have a parking facility of at least 280 cars at a time that will decongest the capital city.”“Apart from that, a modern market system, multiplexes, hotels, shopping malls etc. will be introduced in the building which will be approximately 50 meters in height, the highest building in entire north-east”, he added.Yadav further said, “The property is a private-public partnership and the state government has leased the land for construction to a private company for 30 years. The total cost of construction will be around Rs 200 crore”.The Municipal Commissioner also mentioned that recognized street vendors and auto rickshaw drivers have been allotted designated places by the AMC so that their livelihood is not hampered.Notably, this is the second PPP project in Tripura under BJP government with the Hotel Polo Towers being the first similar project.
