Agartala, February 4, 2024: Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Prosun Kanti Tripura has been transferred from his post in Amtali after serving for one and a half months. Recent allegations surfaced on social media, accusing SDPO Tripura of involvement in hooliganism to protect his son and daughter in the Jagatpur area.

Local residents submitted a deputation to the District Police Superintendent, urging the dismissal of SDPO Prosun Kanti Tripura. In response, he has been reassigned to the TSR 13th Battalion.

On Sunday morning, six SDPOs underwent transfers as part of an order issued by the Police Headquarters. Among the 17 police officers affected at the TPS Great One Great Two level, Sadar SDPO Devprasad Roy and NCC SDPO Parmita Pandey have been appointed as Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) in the Detective Branch.

Additionally, Dulal Dutta, the SDPO of Sabroom, now assumes the role of SDPO of Sadar, while DSP Subrata Barman takes over as SDPO of NCC. Other appointments include DSP Kamal Krishna Kalai as SDPO of Jirania, Kamal Bikash Majumder as SDPO of Mohanpur, and Shankar Chandra Das as SDPO of Amtali. Meanwhile, Mohanpur SDPO Vijay Sen has been entrusted with the charge of the North District.

The statement further revealed that TPS Kishan Kumar has been appointed as SP MPF, TPS Prasenjit Ghosh as CO of Ramarao Training Institute, TPS Rajiv Sengupta as Commandant of the 15th TSR Battalion, and TPS Rajib Sutradhar as Additional Superintendent of Police for Sepahijala district. Probir Pal assumes the role of Additional Superintendent of Police for Khowai.
