Tragic Road Accident Claims One Life in Teliamura

Teliamura, May 6: A devastating road accident occurred on the national highway during the early hours of Monday, resulting in the loss of one life. The victim has been identified as Bijan Kumar Das (45), a resident of Shantirbazar in Dhalai district. The incident unfolded around 4:30 am in the Chakmaghat area under Teliamura police station.

According to initial reports, a stone-laden truck with registration number TR05-C-1716 was en route from Churaibari to Agartala when it unexpectedly halted in the middle of the road in Chakmaghat. At that moment, a smaller goods-laden vehicle, bearing registration number TR06-1592, collided with the stationary truck from behind. Tragically, Bijan Kumar Das, the owner of the smaller vehicle, lost his life on impact.

The driver of the goods-laden vehicle fled the scene, but witnesses who heard the collision rushed to the spot. They promptly alerted the Teliamura Fire Service personnel, who arrived swiftly and rescued the injured owner of the smaller vehicle. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, Bijan Kumar Das was pronounced dead at the scene. His body will undergo post-mortem examination at the Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital before being released to his family.

The incident has left the entire area in shock, emphasizing the importance of road safety and vigilance. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
