Agartala: May 14: A heartbreaking incident unfolded today as a teenager lost his life while bathing with friends in Premsagar, a border village near Kamthana in the Bishalgarh subdivision. The young boy, identified as Shubha Chowdhury, had recently passed his higher secondary examination.
Shubha Chowdhury’s lack of swimming skills proved fatal. Despite being unaware of his inability to swim, he joined his friends for a bath in Premsagar. Tragically, Shubha went under the water and couldn’t resurface. His friends raised the alarm, prompting a large crowd to gather at the scene. Desperate efforts to locate him ensued.
The Bishalgarh Fire Brigade was swiftly notified, and their personnel conducted an exhaustive search. After two hours of intense efforts, they recovered Shubha Chowdhury’s lifeless body from the water. He was immediately transported to Bishalgarh Subdivisional Hospital.
At the hospital, the attending doctor declared Shubha dead. His parents and relatives were inconsolable, their tears reflecting the profound loss they now face.
Upon learning of the tragic accident, Bishalgarh MLA Sushanta Deb rushed to the hospital. He expressed heartfelt condolences to Shubha’s grieving family and relatives.
