Agartala, November 20: People from the poorer sections of the rural areas should be identified and given priority for their overall development. Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu said this in a meeting at Raj Bhavan today.
On this day, Secretary of Rural Development Department Sandeep R. Rathore, Secretary of Urban Development Department Abhishek Singh and Commissioner of Agartala Purnigam Dr. Meeting with Shailesh Kumar Yadav. In the meeting, the Governor inquired about the various projects and programs of the Rural Development Department. Moreover, the governor also inquired about the progress of the project implementation of this department.
He asked the Secretary and other officials of the Rural Development Department to identify the poor people in the rural areas and give priority to their overall development. He directed to complete the work of houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The Governor laid emphasis on the development of road connectivity in the villages which are yet to be connected by road.
The Governor said that at least one village should be identified and the people there should be encouraged in various income-based programs. In the meeting, Secretary of Urban Development Department Abhishek Singh informed the Governor about the various activities of the department. Commissioner of Agartala Purnigam Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav briefed the Governor about the various developmental programs of Purnigam.
