Agartala: In a late night development on Friday, founder of TIPRA Motha party Pradyot Kishore Debbarman met Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha at the civil secretariat. It was for the third or fourth time that Debbarman has called on the Chief Minister reportedly to discuss the funding issues pertaining to the TATAADC areas. Speaking to media persons, Debbarman said, “This is an ongoing process and this series of meetings will continue. We are seeking funds for the tribal areas and we hope the state will consider our demands positively”. It is worthy to be mentioned here that Debbarman’s party is also in talks with the Central government on their core demand of constitutional solution for the tribal population if required through formation of a separate state in accordance with the Article 2 and 3 of the Indian constitution. Since the party assumed power in the tribal areas district council, Debbarman had been complaining about financial deprivation to the tribal body.
