The arrests were made following a raid on Monday night in the Gouranga Bazar and Bhairab Nagar areas. The arrested individuals, identified as Bisu Das, Babul Das, and Jagaswar Das, were produced before the Bilonia court today around 12:30 pm, where the police sought their remand.

The incident occurred on the evening of July 12, when Badal Shil was attacked by miscreants in Chotaakhala Bazar. Shil, who was the CPI(M) candidate for ward number 4 of the South Tripura District Council, succumbed to his injuries on July 13 while receiving treatment at Agartala GB Hospital.

Following the attack, Badal Shil’s family filed a case at the PR Bari police station, naming seven individuals. Amal Das, Rinku Poddar, and Pradip Nom were previously arrested and are currently in judicial custody. With the latest arrests, only one accused remains at large.
