Agartala March 20: The election of the Speaker of the newly formed Tripura Legislative Assembly will be held on March 24. Nomination papers will be submitted on March 23 before 1 pm. Gopal Chandra Roy’s name has been sealed as a candidate by the Indian National Congress and the Marxist Communist Party in talks. And this election is very important. Pradesh Congress President Birjit Sinha said this at a press conference organized at Pradesh Congress Bhawan on Monday.

He said that Gopal Chandra Roy will compete jointly for Congress, Marxist Communist Party and Tipra Matha in this election. He is the MLA of 9 Banmalipur Assembly Constituency. Birjit Sinha urged the elected members of the Assembly to collectively elect Gopal Chandra Roy because he is highly educated and has served as a member of the Legislative Assembly for a long time. Considering the overall aspect, Jitendra Chowdhury and Tipra Matha proposed the name of Gopal Chandra Roy on behalf of the Marxist Communist Party. He is hopeful that the elected members will make Gopal Chandra Roy victorious. He also said that BJP got majority by getting only 38 percent more votes. As a result, it is understood that more than 60 percent of the people of the state wanted change. He also said that Congress will provide constructive support to this government. He said that he will fight for the interests of the people inside and outside the assembly. The winning candidate Sushanta Chakraborty and others were also present in the organized press conference.
