Agartala, March 6 (H): Dr. Manik Saha has been elected as the leader of the Legislative Party in the Legislative Assembly in Tripura. In today’s parliamentary party meeting, MLA Pratima Bhowmik proposed the name of Dr. Manik Sahar as Chief Minister and he was unanimously elected as the leader. Meanwhile, today, Dr. Manik Saha has submitted a demand to Governor Satyadeo Narayan Arya to form the BJP government. Newly elected MLAs were present with him at that time. In addition, the MLA of the coalition partner IPFT Shukla Charan Nowatia, BJP Pradesh Pravari Dr. Mahesh Sharma and state president Rajeev Bhattacharya, North Eastern coordinator Sambit Patra and MP Revati Tripura.

Newly elected MLAs started coming to the election office of BJP at five o’clock today. 32 MLAs of BJP participated in that meeting. In addition, BJP state president Rajeev Bhattacharya, party leader Dr. Mahesh Sharma, BJP North-East Coordinator Sambit Patra, MP Revati Tripura and Assam Minister Parimal Shukla Vaidya. On this day, after lighting the lamp, the women legislators of BJP welcomed all those present on the stage. After that, the closed door meeting started on the election of the council leader. After the meeting, the name of Dr. Manik Saha was announced as the BJP council leader. He met the governor this evening and demanded to form the government.

The swearing-in of the new government will be held at Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala on March 8. Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives for the swearing-in ceremony. Also, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP All India President JP Nadda and Chief Ministers of various North Eastern states will be present at the swearing-in ceremony. It is reported that several central ministers will also attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new government. Meanwhile, BJP All India General Secretary Vinod Taore and Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav are coming to participate in the meeting tomorrow to select other cabinet members.
