Agartala: August 12: There have been allegations that the Tipra Motha candidate and party workers from Kalyanpur block were forcibly removed from the counting center. In protest, workers led by Ranjit Debbarma have blocked the Teliamura-Khowai road. They are demanding a recount in those seats. In a detailed account of the incident, MLA Ranjit Debbarma alleged that counting had been underway since morning in 4 seats of Dwarikapur and 9 seats of West Dwarikapur in Kalyanpur block. However, suddenly, the ruling party workers pushed and removed the Tipra Motha candidate and 13 party workers from these polling stations. Debbarma alleged that BJP workers removed the Motha party candidate along with the agents. He further alleged that none of the officials, including the Kalyanpur Returning Officer, responded. Due to this, the road has been blocked.
