Agartala: Nov 07: After the launch of the e-Vidhan Sabha system, some technical glitches have emerged regarding the online submission of question papers during legislative sessions. Opposition Leader of the state, Jitendra Choudhury, brought this issue to the attention of the Legislative Assembly Secretary. The Secretary promptly informed the Speaker, Biswabandhu Sen, and the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Ratan Lal Nath, about the matter. They then contacted the organization responsible for implementing the e-Vidhan system and discovered that the problem stemmed from some technical issues.
In response, an all-party meeting was convened on Thursday in the Legislative Assembly to discuss the matter further. During the discussions, it was decided that resolving the technical issue related to the “headset” would fix the problem. It was also agreed that the next Legislative Assembly session could take place in January, with legislators being able to submit their question papers online once the Governor announces the session.
However, for the upcoming session, MLAs will still be required to submit their question papers offline. If any further technical issues arise, they will be addressed accordingly. Minister Ratan Lal Nath assured that to avoid any system disruptions in the future, both online and offline options will remain available for question submission in the next Assembly session.
The meeting saw representatives from all major political parties, including the BJP’s Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Opposition Leader Jitendra Choudhury from CPI(M), Birajit Sinha from Congress, and Ranjit Debbarma from Tipra Motha. The participants expressed their commitment to resolving the issues and ensuring smooth functioning of the e-Vidhan system moving forward, with the aim of improving transparency and efficiency in legislative processes.
