Inaugurating the portal, Tapashili Caste Welfare Minister Sudhanshu Das told reporters that various initiatives are being taken for the convenience of the public in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of building a digital India. It is for this purpose that the BMS portal of the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department has been launched. He said that until now financial assistance was given in this project through offline application. This service has been launched completely online from today. Through this BMS portal the patient or his family can apply on the portal with required correct documents. Financial assistance will be disbursed to the beneficiary’s bank account very quickly after the records of the patients are analyzed at the detailed district welfare officer level.

Scheduled caste welfare minister also said that patients who have already spent money for treatment also have a chance to get benefits through this portal. He said, if no one has experience in online matters, in that case, the applicant can take the help of the welfare officer at the district or sub-divisional level along with the necessary documents. In this case the applicant can apply once in six months on the portal.
