Agartala: Sept 02: Unrecognized vendors will not be allowed to open stalls during the Puja under any circumstances, according to a recent decision by the corporation. In response, MLA Sudip Roy Barman has written to Mayor Deepak Majumdar, requesting a reconsideration of this decision.

In his letter, Sudip Roy Barman highlighted the severe impact of recent floods across the state, which have caused significant suffering and financial loss to thousands of people in both rural and urban areas. He expressed concern that the ban on unrecognized vendors would further exacerbate the hardships faced by many families who rely on selling small items during the Puja for their livelihood.

Sudip Roy Barman urged the Mayor to reconsider the decision, taking into account the extreme suffering of the working people due to the floods. He emphasized that hundreds of families depend on the income generated from these stalls and that the number of unrecognized vendors is substantial in various parts of the city. The floods have already caused significant financial losses to these vendors this year.
