Agartala July 1: A tragic incident took place in Kumarghat last Wednesday when the Ulto Rath was electrocuted. Seven people died in this incident. About 16 to 17 pilgrims were injured. Nine of the injured were referred to GB Hospital on the same day as their condition was critical. Currently they are under treatment at GB Hospital.

Four days after the incident, MLA Sudip Roy Barman and Pradesh Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha rushed to GB Hospital on Saturday morning. They inquired about the physical condition of the injured and learned about the incident in detail. MLA Sudip Roy Barman and Pradesh Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha also spoke to the doctors later. Then MLA Sudip Roy Barman, facing the media, expressed his grief and said it was a very tragic incident. He prayed to God for their speedy recovery. Currently nine people are under treatment at GB Hospital. Some of them are in serious condition. The MLA hoped that they would be able to recover quickly and lead a normal life.
