Successful Kidney Transplants Conducted in Tripura

Agartala: Nov 24: Two successful kidney transplantations have been performed in the state. A team of doctors from Manipur has collaborated with doctors in Tripura to successfully conduct these kidney transplants. This was announced by the state’s Chief Minister.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that both kidney transplants were successful. While kidney transplants outside the state cost around 35-40 lakhs, the families of the two patients in Tripura did not have to bear any expenses for the procedures.

He further stated that the state government has more advanced plans regarding kidney transplants. Discussions are also underway on how to transplant the kidneys of deceased individuals into patients.
