In his letter, Saha highlighted that lakhs of people have been impacted by the floods, which were caused by heavy rains leading to rising river levels. Vast areas have been inundated, resulting in significant property and livelihood losses. Hundreds of thousands of people have been rendered homeless, and approximately 26 people have lost their lives.

Saha noted that the floods have caused extensive damage to infrastructure across the state, severely affecting the economy and financial stability of the residents. Many homes with mud walls have collapsed, displacing thousands of residents who are now in temporary shelters.

He also pointed out the serious health risks due to the lack of drinking water and proper sanitation facilities, which could lead to the rapid spread of waterborne diseases. Saha emphasized the urgent need for clothing and medical aid and appealed to the governor to provide financial assistance to the victims.
